Cernos Gel is a drug used as a low testosterone treatment in men. It belongs to a group of medications known as androgens.
Cernos Gel is a gel containing testosterone. The latter is responsible for the normal development of male sex organs and secondary sex characteristics. A lack of testosterone may lead to erectile dysfunction, fatigue and loss of energy, reduced sexual desire, depression, weakening of bones or regression of secondary sexual characteristics. This drug is used to supplement or replace natural production of testosterone, hence reversing the symptoms of low testosterone levels.
Cernos Gel is meant to be used by men who have low or no testosterone. In most cases, Cernos Gel should be applied on the clean area of the shoulders and upper arms, which should be protected by clothing. Cernos Gel should be applied on clean skin, at the same time each morning. Wash your hands right away after using this product.
It is recommended to speak with a medical specialist to know the right dosage of Cernos Gel for you and when you should apply it. Please inform your healthcare provider before using this drug if you have one of the following conditions: prostate cancer, breast cancer, urinary problems, heart diseases, kidney or liver problems or sleep apnea. Also inform the specialist of other medications you might be using on the side, to avoid the risks of harmful interactions.
Avoid using Cernos Gel on other parts of your body, like the abdomen, penis or scrotum. Stay clear of fire until the gel is dry, since Androgel is flammable. Testosterone Gel can transfer from your body to others when in contact. This drug may be harmful for women and children.
The most common side-effects of Cernos Gel are headache, mood swings, high blood pressure, acne, abnormal lab tests, skin allergic reactions (itching, redness) or increased red blood cell count. More serious ones include enlargement of prostate gland, increased risk of prostate cancer, a decrease in sperm count and swelling of ankles, feet or body.
This list is non-inclusive. Seek medical assistance in case you notice any serious side-effect, signs of puberty in young children who have been exposed to testosterone or Cernos Gel has come in contact with a pregnant woman.
